Expect routine check-ups spaced around 4-6 weeks apart until the 28th week, focusing on monitoring your and your baby’s health.

This appointment is with a Midwife or Supervised Clinical Assistant.

For an optimal start to your pregnancy journey, we recommend scheduling your initial antenatal appointment between 6 and 9 weeks of pregnancy. During this pivotal visit, our team is committed to:

  • Pregnancy Confirmation: We will verify your pregnancy and address any immediate queries or concerns you may have.
  • In-Depth Medical History Discussion: Understanding your overall health and gynecological history allows us to tailor our care to your specific needs.
  • Tests: HIV, Hb, blood group, RPR, Hep B, Rubella, urinalysis, – Rh antibodies (±)
  • Book an *NT Scan: Our experts will conduct a dating scan to accurately determine your due date, providing a clear timeline for your pregnancy.
  • Birthing Options: We will discuss various birthing options, empowering you to make informed choices regarding your delivery experience.

Additionally, we provide comprehensive education on fostering a healthy pregnancy. Our assessments will include vital checks like monitoring blood pressure and analyzing urine samples to identify any potential pregnancy complications. This appointment is an ideal opportunity for you to inquire about any concerns you might have. Should you require more frequent visits for any reason, we’re readily available.

*An NT scan, or nuchal translucency scan, is an antenatal screening test typically performed between the 11th and 14th weeks of pregnancy. This non-invasive ultrasound scan measures the thickness of the fluid at the back of the baby’s neck (nuchal translucency). The results, when combined with maternal age and sometimes blood test results, can help assess the risk of Down syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities in the foetus. It’s important to note that the NT scan is a screening, not a diagnostic, test, and further diagnostic tests may be recommended if the results indicate a higher risk.
